Greetings from the Director

SKY Aerospace Institute was founded in 2012 by Kimio Sakata with the hope that Japanese aerospace technology would contribute to world peace and sustainable development in the current chaotic international environment.
Dr. Ryoji Yanagi, who succeeded the founder who passed away suddenly in 2017, and I, who will succeed him, will strive to realize the founder's philosophy by envisioning the future of the aerospace field, asking what role Japan and industry should play in it, the path to realize it, and what we should do now.
As of the year 2020, the spread of the new coronavirus is having a major impact on the entire civil air transport industry, which is a huge infrastructure for global logistics and an essential part of humanity's social activities.
The mission of the civil air transport industry is to pursue safety, energy conservation, and cost reduction of aircraft systems while implementing advanced technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which is a critical issue in the world. Furthermore, it is also essential to provide society with attractive new aircraft systems that meet customer requirements. And these processes of technological research and product development are filled with a wide variety of dreams that attract students, researchers, engineers and manufacturers.
Together with universities, research institutes, manufacturers, and users, the SKY Aerospace Institute will continue to work toward contributing to the sound and sustainable development of the aviation industry in Japan and around the world.
